Major Housing Schemes in Omagh & Kesh - 14 December 2017

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council Planning Committee approved two new housing development developments today. Ross Planning was planning consultant on both schemes, working alongside ACA Architects.

The site in Omagh is a prominent and attractive parcel of land on the edge of the Crevenagh Link Road; the scheme comprises 78 new units, mainly semi-detached and detached dwellings set within a landscape of mature trees and steeply sloping land. Ross Planning led the pre-application discussions and the community consultation, which attracted a lot of interest from local residents. The application was decided within six months of submission, by any standards this is an impressive turnaround which demonstrates that thorough pre-application work helps to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of the final application.

The site in Kesh is for 68 dwellings on a riverside site close to the centre of the village. A key issue of the design was to respect the archaeological significance of the site and create attractive houses onto the road frontage. Again, this was a major application and Ross Planning conducted the pre-application community consultation exercise and all the planning documentation as part of the application. The application was decided within six months of submission.
