Ross Planning have been presented with the award for "Best Planner: Renewable Project" award at the 2013 Action Renewables Association Awards Ceremony. The event is billed as Northern Irelands most prestigious 'green' awards and the ceremony was held in the Titanic Signature Building on 6th February. The Best Planner award was sponsored by the Department of the Environment.
The Action Renewables Association Awards brings together the key players in the Renewables Industry in Northern Ireland, including the major wind, solar and biomass companies. This years' Best Planner award was hotly contended and the shortlist of companies included a selection of the best known planning and architecture consultancies in Northern Ireland. Ross Planning is a specialist consultancy that has proven its capacity to handle some of the largest and most complicated planning applications in Northern Ireland. Ross Planning is based in Cookstown and their success in this instance demonstrates that they are producing high quality work on major projects throughout Northern Ireland.
Ross Planning deals with a huge range of renewables projects including Wind farms, wind turbines, solar schemes and AD Plants; but for the 2013 award the company focused on its work on hydro-electric projects. The award judges were very complementary about the nominated scheme, and they highlighted how Ross Planning had delicately managed the process of preparing an Environmental Impact Assessment and securing the planning permission and a water abstraction licence.
