Application lodged today for solar farm development in Lisburn. We have been working on this scheme for 10 months, from the initial site search exercise through to a pre-application consultation and site survey, and finally a planning application. The scheme will be the largest solar scheme in Northern Ireland and we are pleased to be the lead agent on this exciting green-energy scheme. Having visited a number of sites in England, it is clear that the development impacts are very limited and the schemes can be developed quickly with minimal fuss. Eastern Northern Ireland benefits from surprisingly high levels of irradiance and there is a great opportunity for large scale solar to become an important part of the local energy mix.
