Planning permission has been granted for this 250kW water turbine on an upland site near Carnlough.

This is an ecologically sensitive site within an AONB, which required a thoughtful design solution in liaison with DCAL and NIEA.

It is proposed to install a multi-jet Pelton turbine and, when complete, this scheme will be one of Northern Ireland’s largest water turbine installations.
